3M's QuesTemp II personal heat stress monitor directly detects a worker's individual physiological response to prolonged heat exposure. It measures and records a person's core temperature of the external auditory canal to verify an individual’s response to heat stress. User-selected alarm trip points provide an audio alert to workers who are experiencing elevated core temperatures. You can also use the recorded data to evaluate worker response to heat stress loads, and assist in developing preventive measures.
The U.S. Center for Disease Control has produced "Protecting Yourself from Heat Stress" to help you identify the symptoms of heat stress illnesses, and steps you can take to reduce heat stress issues in your workplace.
