Noise dosimeters are getting smaller and smaller. Badge style dosimeters, like the Casella CEL-350, have certain advantages over traditional dosimeters. Because the whole dosimeter is in a package that is small and light enough to be worn on the shoulder or mounted on a hard hat, it doesn't need microphone cables. With no cables to get in the way, not only is it safer to wear, but employees are less resistant to wearing it, and much more likely to forget it is there. So, the quality of the noise data collected is improved.

No external equipment is needed to operate the Casella CEL-350 dBadge — just use the two keys on the side of the instrument. All necessary workplace noise parameters are measured simultaneously, and stored for later download to a PC.
